Text to donate (single donation)

This is a charity donation service run by a third party for Cats Protection.

To donate £3 just text the word THREE to 70030. Standard network rates apply.
To donate £5 just text the word FIVE to 70030. Standard network rates apply.
To donate £10 just text the word TEN to 70030. Standard network rates apply.

This charity donation service enables you to donate and receive information about the work of Cats Protection and by using it you agree that we may contact you in the future.

If you’d rather we didn’t contact you by phone or SMS, text NOINFO CATS to 78866 (standard network rates apply) or contact our Supporter Services team on 0800 917 2287 or email supporter.services@cats.org.uk

Alternatively you can text THREE NO, FIVE NO or TEN NO to 70030 (standard network rates apply) to give your single donation without receiving further contact by phone and SMS, however you will still receive payment admin texts.

Cats Protection receives 100% of your donation.

You can only donate from a UK mobile phone number. You cannot donate using this service from a mobile phone number from Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man. If you donate using this service from a UK mobile abroad, you may incur additional network charges. You must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message. You must be 16 years old or over to send a text donation.

There is a limit of four times per day you may make a donation via text but some mobile networks have a daily limit of £30 in premium. You will not be able to donate more by text from the same number on the same day, but you may still incur your standard network message charge if you try.

  • To donate £5 just text the word SAFE to 70456, standard network rates apply
  • These numbers are different as we broadcast these on different TV channels and will monitor the success of each number to make our appeals as cost effective as possible. Cats Protection still receives 100% of the donation. The cost of the text is £5 or the donation amount plus your standard network rate.
  • By texting the above number, you consent to future phone and/or SMS marketing contact (this is stipulated on the ad you see).

    Alternatively, you can text SAFE NO to 70456 (standard network rates apply) to give a £5 single donation without receiving further contact by phone and SMS, you will still receive payment admin texts.

 

Text to donate to our Unforgettable campaign (one-off and regular giving)

This is a charity donation service run by a third party for Cats Protection. Cats Protection receives 100% of your donation.

Texts to 70020, 70025, 70099 or 70111 cost £3 per month plus 2 x messages at the standard network rate for the keyword NEED, NEED3, NEED4, NEED5, NEED6 or NEED7. By texting NEED, NEED3, NEED4, NEED5, NEED6 or NEED7 to 70020, 70025, 70099 or 70111 you are opting in to receiving marketing from Cats Protection by phone and SMS.


Texts to 70140 or 70145 using the keyword NEED, NEED3, NEED4, NEED5, NEED6 or NEED7 donate £5 to Cats Protection, standard network charges apply for messages sent. This is an initial one-off donation. By texting NEED, NEED3, NEED4, NEED5, NEED6 or NEED7 to 70140 or 70145 you are opting in to receiving marketing from Cats Protection by phone and SMS. If you had text NEED, NEED3, NEED4, NEED5, NEED6 or NEED7 to 70140 or 70145 and opted into further marketing you will receive a follow-up text asking if you would like to set up a £5 monthly donation via text to Cats Protection. To set up this regular donation you must reply BEGIN to the text. This will set up a monthly donation to Cats Protection plus standard network charges.


If you would like to donate to Cats Protection without giving phone/SMS marketing consent, please add NO to the end of the keyword when entering (you will still get admin messages in relation to your mobile lottery subscription). For example, CARE NO to 70140 (standard network rates apply).


If at any point you want to opt out of marketing by phone and SMS you can text NOINFO CATS to 78866 (standard network rates apply) to revoke your consent. Texts to 70025 using the keyword KITTEN or LIVES donate £5 to Cats Protection, standard network charges apply for messages sent. This is an initial one off donation. By texting KITTEN or LIVES to 70025 you are opting in to receiving marketing from Cats Protection by phone and SMS.

Texts to 70025 using the keyword KITTENNO or LIVESNO donate £5 to Cats Protection, standard network charges apply for messages sent. The is a one-off donation. By texting KITTENNO or LIVESNO to 70025 you are opting out of marketing from Cats Protection by phone and SMS.

If you had text KITTEN or LIVES to 70025 and opted into further marketing you will receive a follow up text asking if you would like to set up a £5 monthly donation via text to Cats Protection. To set up this regular donation you must reply BEGIN to the text. This will set up a £5 monthly donation to Cats Protection plus standard network charges.

Texts to 70365, 70381, 70383 cost £3 per month plus 2 x messages at the standard network rate for the keyword MUM. By texting MUM to 70365, 70381, 70383 you are opting in to receiving marketing from Cats Protection by phone and SMS.

Texts to 70384 using the keyword MUM3, MUM4, MUM5 or MUM6 cost £3 per month plus 2 x messages at the standard network rate. 

By texting MUM NO 70365, 70381, 70383 or 70384 you are opting out of marketing from Cats Protection by phone and SMS (you will still get admin messages in relation to your regular giving donation).

Text to play the Cats Protection lottery

Texts to 70007 (using the keyword CAT), to 78866, 88008 or 87272 (using the keyword HAPPY), to 82727 (using the keyword HAPPY3, HAPPY4, HAPPY5, HAPPY6 or HAPPY7), to 70599 (using the keyword LOTTO), to 81066 (using the key word DREAM3, DREAM4, DREAM5, DREAM6, DREAM7), to 82727 (using the keyword PLAY3, PLAY4, PLAY5, PLAY6 or PLAY7), to 88008 (using the keyword PLAY3, PLAY4, PLAY5, PLAY6 or PLAY7), to 78866 (using the keyword PLAY3, PLAY4, PLAY5, PLAY6 or PLAY7) cost £5 plus up to five standard network rate messages. This payment will be taken every five weeks for the purchase of one entry into the following five Cats Protection Weekly Lottery draws. To enter our lottery you must be over 18 and a UK resident. If you have already entered the Cats Protection Weekly Lottery without adding NO after the keyword and subsequently wish to opt-out of SMS and phone marketing communication you can do anytime by texting OUT to 82727, standard network rates apply (you will still get admin messages in relation to your mobile lottery subscription).

Text to play the Cats Protection raffle

Texts to 81400, 84025, 84903 (using the keyword PLAY) cost £5 plus up to five standard network rate messages. This payment will be taken for the purchase of five entries into the Cats Protection Christmas 2022 Raffle. This is a one-off payment, not a recurring payment. This promotion closes at 23:59:59 on Tuesday 13 December 2022.To enter our Raffle you must be over 18 and a UK resident. By texting one of the above numbers, you consent to future postal marketing contact (this is stipulated on the letter sent to you).

Text giving for centres

This is a charity donation service run by a third party for Cats Protection. Each of our centres has their own unique code listed below.

Texts to 70577 using one of the codes listed in bold below cost £5 plus standard network charge. This is an initial one off donation. You will then be asked if you would like to sign up to give a regular gift to relating to that adoption centre. If you reply YES then this will cost £5 per month plus standard network charges.

It should be noted that by texting 70577 and the relevant Adoption Centre code you are consenting to Cats Protection contacting you by phone and SMS about our work. If you would rather we didn’t contact you by phone or SMS about our work please text 70577 and the relevant Adoption Centre code followed by the word NO. e.g. EVES NO to 70577 (standard network rates apply).

This is a monthly subscription service where you receive a free text message the day before your gift is due. If you are happy to give, you don't need to do anything and your donation will come off that particular month's phone bill or your pay-as-you-go credit, plus you’ll be charged for one standard rate message.
Cats Protection will receive 100% of your donation.

Using SKIP

If you would prefer not to give for a particular month, reply SKIP within 24 hours of receiving the text and we will not proceed with your donation for that month. You'll receive a message confirming that your payment will not be taken. You’ll be charged one standard rate text message.

If your phone is out of range or switched off when we send the first text, you don't need to worry. We will only take your gift 24 hours after we know that your phone has received our message.

See your gifts in action

We want you to see the difference your gifts are making so we will send you links to images and other content that you can view on an internet-enabled phone – or on your computer. We won't charge you for this content but, as with any mobile browsing, viewing it could mean you incur charges from your network provider.

Ending your support

We hope that you won't cancel your gift and that you will use the SKIP system if you decide not to give in a particular month. However, if you want to end your gifts permanently, you can reply and text STOP to unsubscribe. You’ll be charged one standard rate text message.

In order to stop your regular gift:

  • For £3 codes text STOP to 70007 (standard network rates apply)
  • For £5 codes text STOP to 70800 (standard network rates apply)

In the event that any of our text messages cannot be delivered to you, your mobile network will try to redeliver the message for the next 14 days. If still unsuccessful we will stop trying for that month and try again next month as normal.
