Cats Protection has over 200 branches across the UK that are run entirely by volunteers from their homes. Our branches take in cats in need and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention required to get them ready for adoption. Branches also help raise funds to directly help cats in their care, facilitate the neutering of thousands of cats every year, support cat owners and help spread cat welfare messages.
As a branch volunteer you’ll develop new skills, make new friends, and help improve the lives of cats and kittens in your local community.
You would mainly be volunteering remotely in the comfort of your own home. The rest of the branch team is usually based locally and there will normally be opportunities to volunteer together and meet up.
The branch volunteer roles are varied, so you can pick whichever appeals to you the most!
We welcome all volunteers who have a passion for cats, a bit of spare time or would like to try something new!

“As a fosterer volunteer I derive a great deal of pleasure in knowing that what I do makes a huge difference to the present and future welfare of the cats and kittens that come into my care, seeing them go to lovely new homes is one of the greatest rewards of all!” – Mary, Branch Fosterer
