How to volunteer as a fosterer for Paws Protect

Our fosterers are vital to Paws Protect to provide a safe home to cats until they can be reunited with their families. You can volunteer to be a fosterer for Paws Protect if you are located in the South East (London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Kent, Sussex and Surrey), Yorkshire, East Anglia or the Midlands.

Before applying, please make sure you:

  • have no other pets at home (we can’t guarantee your foster cat will like the company of other cats or dogs!). If you have pets that live in a tank or cage, get in touch and we’ll have a chat about whether this could be suitable
  • either own your own property or have written permission from your landlord to foster cats

By fostering with Paws Protect, you’ll be helping us to support someone in need of a temporary home for their cat. We’ll cover all costs so all you need to do is provide a loving home for your foster cat and send us lots of photos so we can give their owner updates.

Applying to become a Paws Protect fosterer is quick and easy. You can either call us, email us or fill out the online application.

What do I need to provide for my foster cat?

All you need to provide your foster cat with is a safe home and somewhere comfy to nap – we can help you with the rest! We’ll provide your foster cat’s food and any medication or veterinary care they need while they are with you. Of course, you’re more than welcome to spoil them with toys.
