We’ve teamed up with The Quirky Quillers to bring you a brand new craftalong project: quilling!
Our spring craftalong has now taken place but you can still purchase a quilling kit and watch our craftalong on demand.
Suitable for crafters of all abilities, you’ll get a craft kit filled with materials to create your beautiful quilled cat – all while helping the cats and kittens in our care.
You'll be led by quilling expert, Rachel from The Quirky Quillers, who will guide you step-by-step to making your pawtrait.
You can watch our craftalong on demand in our Craft for Cats Facebook group and also via a YouTube link which we will send to all craft for cats event supporters.
Sign up for yourself or gift a place to a special cat lover in your life and a kit will be delivered directly to their door. Please note, your kit will be sent 2nd class postage to maximise the proceeds to help cats and kittens.
The cost to take part includes the craft kit, access to watch the craftalong, as well as £10 to support our work to help the cats who need us most.
Sometimes known as paper filigree, quilling uses narrow strips of paper which is curled, shaped or folded before being arranged into beautiful designs.
The beauty of quilling is you can be as simple or intricate as you like!
Your kit has been specially designed by The Quirky Quillers to make sure you can craft the purrfect pawtrait including step-by-step instructions*.
There are three kit colour combinations for you to choose from, depending on what colour cat you’d like to create:
*To complete your cat pawtrait you will also need a small pair of scissors and PVA glue (or similar).
Crafting has always been a passion for Rachel, so founding The Quirky Quillers came naturally to her. Providing inspiration and delight is Rachel’s mission, so a big part of that is through the products The Quirky Quillers stock and creating an online community for quillers.
Just by signing up, you’ll be helping to improve the lives of cats and kittens across the UK.
Half the cost of taking part goes to help the cats at a local Cats Protection branch or centre of your choice, or wherever the need is greatest.
